When a tag was added to a contact in a connected CRM such as Lofty, the tag appeared on the contact in Sure Send but never started automations with a Tag Added trigger. The same tag added by hand or through the API started them every time.
Tags that arrive from your connected CRM after your first import has finished now start Tag Added automations the same way. They also send your Tag Added webhooks (for example a Zapier “Tag Added to Contact” trigger) and Utility Connect tag rules, exactly as a tag added by hand does.
Your first import still never starts automations. Connecting a CRM brings over your whole existing database, and none of those contacts are enrolled because of tags they already carry. The same applies to a Full Re-Sync or a reconnect: only tags that are genuinely new since the first import finished can start an automation, and each new tag starts it once.
Contacts that already existed in your CRM before you connected it are now always imported quietly, even when they reach Sure Send late (for example after a reconnect). They no longer send New Person or Person Updated webhooks or start lead routing when they arrive.
